Our Story
Born in Kanpur. Rooted in Tradition.
USHBHA started with one belief — that the purest oil makes the best food.
The USHBHA Story
Our family has been pressing mustard oil the traditional way for over forty years. Long before "cold-pressed" became a label on supermarket shelves, our ghani in Unnao was turning mustard seeds into oil the only way we knew — slowly, at low heat, with nothing added and nothing taken away.
In 2019 we formalised that tradition into USHBHA — a name and a brand that could carry the same promise our family had always kept, to more kitchens across Kanpur and Uttar Pradesh. The pressing happens at our Unnao facility. The seeds are Grade-A yellow mustard, sourced directly from farmers in Rajasthan — the finest mustard-growing belt in India. Every batch is cold-pressed below 40°C, naturally settled, and bottled the same day it is pressed.
What had changed by 2019 was the market around us. Refined oils, solvent-extracted blends and relabelled imports had crowded out genuine sarso tel from most shops. Families who remembered the real smell — that sharp, pungent teethi that makes your eyes water when the kadhai heats up — were struggling to find it. We decided the answer was to come directly to their door.
Today USHBHA delivers to homes, dhabas, restaurants, halwai shops, and canteens across Kanpur and the surrounding districts. Every bottle carries our FSSAI licence number (12726070000056) and a batch-specific lab certificate. We do not blend. We do not add colour or preservatives. We press, we test, we deliver — and we have done it the same way for over four decades.

The Kacchi Ghani Process
"Kacchi Ghani" literally means "raw press" in Hindi. Unlike hot-pressed or solvent-extracted oils, kacchi ghani extraction preserves the natural glucosinolates, omega-3 fatty acids, and the characteristic sharp pungency (teethi) that gives sarso tel its distinctive character and health benefits.
Our ghani runs slow — one press per batch — ensuring the oil never heats above 40°C. The result is an oil that smells exactly as mustard should: pungent, earthy, and alive.
